Vers 6h30 ce matin, je me suis fait réveiller par la pluie qui battait la toile de la tente. Ca s'annoncait mal pour la journée... et je ne me suis pas trompé. Une journée terrible, avec vent de face pratiquement tout le trajet et de la pluie. Mais heureusement, j'ai pu faire quelques photos des glaciers mais ce n'est pas vraiment évident quand il pleut. 

En fait, malgré un coupe-vent “étanche”, au bout d'un moment, l'humidité fini par envahir tous mes vêtements, y compris les poches donc c'est difficile d'isoler l'appareil-photo de l'humidité... dans tous les cas, j'ai pu prendre quelques photos du glacier Skeidararjökull. Le champ de sable noir (volcanique évidemment)était magnifique.

Il se trouve que des amis Alsaciens étaient aussi sur l'île à ce moment là, j'ai donc pu donner rendez-vous à Milaine, Didier et Axel dans les environs de Skaftafell. Nous sommes passés voir le paysage de Skaftafell (un autre glacier) qui est impressionnant. 

Ensuite je me suis installé au camping voisin... sur leur pelouse qui était imbibée d'eau. J'ai bien peur de dormir dans une piscine.

Ensuite nous sommes allés manger au restaurant, mon premier depuis que je suis sur l'île. J'ai mangé de l'agneau local, excellent ! Ca m'a fait très plaisir de revoir mes amis et de passer une soirée avec eux après ma journée terrible à vélo.

At about 6:30 this morning, I got awaken by the rain that was hitting hard my tent. It sounded bad for the coming day... and I wasn't wrong. A terrible day, with facing wind almost all the way long and a some rain. But fortunately, I managed to take some pictures of the glaciers. Well, it's not always easy to take pictures when it's raining. 

As a matter of a fact, despite a “waterproof” jacket, after a while, the humidity finishes by invading all my clothes, including the pockets so it's difficult to keep the camera away from humidity... But anyway, I managed to make those pictures of the glacier Skeidararjökull. The black sand field was amasing.

By some funny chance, some friends from Alsace are on the island at the same time as me. So we planned to meet in the Skaftafell area. So Milaine, Didier, Axel and myself visited the Skaftafell site (it's another glacier), which was amasing. 

Then I settled my tent in the next village, on the soaked grass. I am scared I will sleep in a swimming pool tonight.

Then we went for a restaurant, my first one since I am on the island. I ate local lamb, delicious ! It was really nice to see friends and to spend the night with them after my terrible day of cycling.
