Cali (Colombie) - Cali (Colombia)

But no time to breathe, here I am back on the road to Cali in the South-West of Colombia. Cali is known to be the world capital of Salsa, well what a chance, I just cannot dance but I'd like to learn. For the second time, I'll be hosted by someone from CoachSurfing. This Time, this is Jenny (alias JennyMix, and she'll call me ThierryMix all the time) and her sister Karina who will host me at their apartment. I will spend two brilliant weeks visiting the three crosses hill...

... go with Jenny to "Kilometre 18", place supposedly offering a nice view on the city, instead we'll see a lot of clouds, big beetles and the cold invading us until the bones...

... play "Sapo" (frog), kind of a board with holes in which we have to throw rings in order to get points (I lost so badly)...

... went to the waterfall of "El topacio en pance" and had a quick swim in another waterfall nearby...

... meet the exceptional Gloria (and all her staff), owner of the restaurant "La Petite France" of specialities from Alsace (my home region). The lady spent 22 years in Alsace, got married with an Alsacian but doesn't live with him presently. She even invited the evening after to make a presentation of my trip and of my life in general to her students of French language. I was delighted to savour a plate of delicious "rognons", prepared Alsacian way by a Colombian chef formed by Gloria herself...

... visit the city center...

...eat Greek specialities cooked by another coach-surfer passing by, Giorgos, Greek of course...

I need to thank very much JennyMix and KarinaMix for their welcome and for bringing me in the four corners of the region of Cali. And a special thanks to JennyMix for intenting to teach me Salsa. This is not a dance that you can improvise, Colombians have the rhythm and grow up with it. I think I'll need about 20 years before being able to say the I actually can dance Salsa.
