Salar d'Uyuni jour 2 (Bolivie) - Uyuni salt flats day 2 (Bolivia)

So here we are on the second day. The night before, we arrived a little late so the owners of the hotel did not want to serve us food. After a big scandal of the whole team, we eventually got a nice dinner... Well, let's hope that nothing horrible there was added after the little confusion. Anyway, here we are back on the road to the Salar, or rather we leave the salt flats and get into the more mountainous area towards the South.

Our first stop is zoologic because we get the chance to observe the Viscachas, kind of like big rabbits mixed with chinchillas.

Then we stop not far from an active volcano.

Then we go through a petrified volcanic field formed by waves of frozen lava, beautiful.

Then we arrive at Laguna Hedionda (deep blue), superbe altitude lake which is also a sanctuary of pink and white flamingos.

Then it's the Laguna Verde (green) by which we pass by.

Finally, we stop at the Laguna Blanca (white) to have lunch.

Then we go through a somewhat mystical place consisting in large stone columns, one called El Arbol de Piedra, the stone tree.

The last stop of the day is the Laguna Colorada, which as its name suggests is a very colorful lake. The red color is actually caused by algae.

End of the second day, we arrive the extreme South of Bolivia at the border with Chile. As planned, we  will stop there and will not head back to Uyuni. Jipi decides to staz with us because we have planned to walk around the area the day after. We will still spend the night with the whole group in a basic hotel.
