Bogota (Colombie) - Bogota (Colombia)

Musée de l'Or,

We arrive in the capital and will be hosted by a Colombian girl who accepted to host us via a comunity website called Coach Surfing. The principle is simple, people register on the website either to offer hospitality to travelers or to enquire hospitality to locals. It is my first experience of this type and I can tell that it was a good experience. We have been warmly welcomed by Nazly and her flatmates (Andres and Filipe).

In two days, Sam and I visited several places, including the abbey that leans over the city (7 millions inhabitants) at 3200m of altitude,

the neighbourhood of "La Condelaria" (alternative place) and some places in the city in, sometimes, neighbourhoods pretty insecure.

We got checked by the police a couple of times and we got recommended "not to stay in the area with our cameras". We never really felt a bad presence though, apart from the night when we arrived (we got lost, took the wrong bus and ended up in a neighbouhood where all men had a truncheon at their belt).
And because all the good things get to an end, after three days together in the city, and one month since Panama, Sam is leaving to continue his trip on another route. I chose to head to Laeticia in the very South of the country in order to take a boat to cross the Amazonia with a boat on the river Amazone. I must admit that the farewell were hard. It's been a month that we are traveling together and NEVER we disagreed on something (about the trip). Never we fought about something. I am very sure that this is not the last time I see Sam but it is weird to find myself alone again. Well, a page from my trip is turned.

I take the opportunity of being in the capital to visit some museums :
Museum of Gold,

Museum of Modern Arts,

Museum Nacional,

I also will have the opportunity to taste ants (called "big arse ants") with Nazly...

... go out with her and her friends...

... see the city overnight from a mirador with Nazly, her brother Sebastian and his girlfriend...

... and visit an underground cathedral with Sebastian and one of his ants.

I need to thank Nazly very much for her hospitality of high standard. What a nice person and a nice experience. It is so nice to see that exists people welcoming and open, ready to host people for the sake of the share, in exchange of nothing but discussions about travels, the world, life. Without being too hippie, it is good to feel this, you feel more rich and feel hope for the future.
