Road trip vers l'Ouest (Canada+USA) - Road trip to West (Canada+USA)

The rendez-vous was taken on a carpooling website via Internet with Francis (the driver) and Caro, the other carpooler. On this Thursday norning, I say goodbye to my Montreal friends (the Pfeiffer family) with a little pinch to the heart. Their welcoming has been exceptional and I was touched to seen the kids being sad because I was leaving (well, after all, I even walked them to school, we were quite close at the end... message for Emie and Enzo : THUMBS UP !).
Anyway, after a departure rather early, we get acquainted into the car. Francis (aka Capt'ain Francky) is a Quebec native, while Caro is French and has a one year working visa for Canada. The two of them are moving to the West to find a job there and see something else.
We are going to spend four marvelous days together to cross part of the Quebec, Ontario (Canada), then the Michigan (USA), the Wisconsin (USA), the Minnesota (USA, the North Dakota (USA), the Montana (USA) then return to the Alberta (Canada). We will spend one night in a motel, the rest will be in our tents, including one memorable night in North Dakota with an very strong wind. My two carpoolers being good drivers, I only drove 4 hours in total. But what I keep in memory is, of course, the different landscapes we've been through during these four days. From the fire-like landscapes of Quebec valleys to the american Rockies, passing by the huge and wide US plains. I encourage you to pay a visit to the photo section, they talk more than my wording. Because after all, what is a road trip ? A car, people inside, some good music, wee breaks in dodgy gas stations, some police overspeed limit warning that doesn't matter because the next state is in a few miles ahead, life stories, and changing (or not) landscapes...

Arrival on Sunday evening in Banff (North of Calgary in Canada) for a night that is likely to be freezing !
I take this opportunity to thank Caro and Francis for their good mood and their kindness throughout the whole trip. It really was a great road trip. A special thanks to Francis for sharing his car without asking $ other than for the gas.
