Humauaca (Argentine) - Humauaca (Argentina)

Back in the village of Tilcara, we take a bus to the North in late afternoon, we arrive at Humauaca, the main town on the road to Bolivia. We need to find accommodation for the night and instead of trying a hostel, we go a outside the town to find a place to camp. Roxane is pretty excited because apart on the Sun Island (Lake Titicaca), we have not camped, and even there, we have not used my tent as we had found shelter in a deserted barn. After several unsuccessful requests from owners of meadows, we find a small house with a large garden. We ask the young woman who is there if we can camp a little further outside its field, she accepts without problem. We start setting up the tent, but that's where the chica ("girl" in Spanish) tells us that it would be better to sleep in her garden (fenced) because of the numerous street dogs that are in the area. We move the tent. But once mounted, she comes back but this time to offer us to eat with her and her boyfriend and also to sleep in their living room. The invitation you can not be refused... Here's how we spent a great evening with Tatiana and Gonzalo.

The next day, we make a return trip in the very very remote village of Iruya, about 3 hours by bus on a bumpy road is needed to access it.

The village is quite pretty but tourism has plagued the area and we see immediately that contacts with the locals are very distorted. No problem, we'll find something to satisfy our appetite for discovery later.

The same evening we are back in a Pulmamarca our favorite hostel Mama Coca.
