Victoria (Canada) - Victoria BC (Canada)

Departure from Tofino early in the morning because I want to save the cost of the bus (75$) so I am going to try hitchhiking again. The second car that passes actually stops, it's a Norwegian guy who will drop me in Nanaimo. 300km in one lift, not bad. But the rest isn't so nice. I had to walk across the city (around 5km, approx 3 miles) with my big bag in my back, as the  motorway entrance is located on the other side of the city. So after standing for two hours, a young nice lad picked me up and dropped me right in the center of Victoria city (150km away from there, around 90 miles). Victoria is the capital of Victoria Island, it's a very pretty town in which I stayed two days. I ate some interesting things, like an oyster burger and an excellent fish'n chips made with salmon, cod and halibut.

The town is very pretty but it was to be expected as it is know as the Queen's town. For those who didn't know, Canada is still considered as a UK colony of which the English king or queen (presently Queen Elizabeth) still has a constitutional role even if they don't have anything to say politically wise.

To be noticed, the museum, in which I did not enter because of a lack of time, but that was presenting a great collection of impressive totems.

To be noticed as well, the Beacon Hill Park, very nice, and the funny WHARF street.

Here are a few pictures of the hostel for those who don't know what it looks like. Dorms (or dormitory) and common bathrooms.
