Me voilà arrivé à Cuzco, la ville la plus touriste du Pérou. J'en ai peur à ce propos. Et ce n'est d'ailleurs pas que la ville qui est touriste mais toute la région. J'arrive vers 20h, je dois être hébergé par Ana Maria, la cousine de Guillermo (mon hôte de Lima). Mais voilà, une fois arrivé chez elle, le gardien m'explique qu'elle n'est pas là. Je me dis que c'est normal puisqu'elle doit être entrain de travailler. Mais non, elle est partie à Lima. C'est en fait la nounou qui arrive de la promenade avec le chien qui m'en informe, mais elle, n'était pas informée que je devais arriver. Elle l'appelle en direct et apprend en effet que je peux rester dans l'appartement. Tout est surprise ce soir. Bref, je fais donc connaissance de Ilda la nounou, qui est hyper sympa malgré la surprise de mon arrivée.
Autant vous dire que mes peurs se sont avérées vraies et je n'ai pas beaucoup aimé Cuzco version touristique. Tout y est très cher, enfin je trouve. Et je n'ai pas eu de super contact avec les locaux, mis à part Ilda et la famille de Ana Maria. Mon endroit préféré : le marché où là, j'ai pu avoir des contacts "normaux" avec les gens. J'ai tout-de-même pris le temps de visiter quelques endroits à Cuzco, notamment le centre historique...

... la tour de Tupac (dernier guerrier résistant Inca, un peu le Vercingetorix du coin)...

... couvent Santo Domingo qui fût un temple Inca appelé Koricancha auparavant. C'est intéressant de voir que le couvent moderne a été construit sur les ruines du temple Inca.

Ana Maria est ensuite rentrée avec les enfants et Eduardo son mari est rentré de son voyage d'affaire. Il a une collection de bouteilles d'alcool mignature immense ! J'en profite pour remercier toute la famille ainsi que Ilda pour leur formidable accueil.

So here I am in Cuzco, the most touristy town of Peru. I'm pretty scared of it on that matter. As a matter of a fact, it's not only the city that is touristy, but the whole region. I arrive there around 8:00pm. I should be hosted by Ana Maria, the cousin of Guillermo (my host in Lima). But when I arrive at her apartment, the security guy explains me that she isn't there. Normal, well, she works in a restaurant so she's probably still working. Well, not really, she is away in Lima. It's in fact the nanny who went for a walk with the dog who explains me this. The problem is that she wasn't aware either that I was supposed to arrive. So she called Ana Maria to get the whole story and hear that I am supposed to stay at their apartment indeed. All is surprise tonight. Anyway, I introduce better myself to Ilda, the nanny who is very nice in spite of my surprising arrival.
My fears unfortunately appeared to be true about Cuzco and I did not like the touristy version of the city. Everything is really expensive, well I find. And I did not have good contact with the locals, apart from with Ilda and the family of Ana Maria. My favourite place ? The market where I managed to have "normal" contacts with people. I still took the time to visit the city, amongst others, I visited the historical downtown...

... the convent Santo Domingo that used to be an Inca temple called Koricancha. It's amazing to see that the convent has been built above the ruines of the Inca temple.
Ana Maria then came back home with the kids, and Eduardo her husband came back from his business trip. He has an amazing collection of mini bottles of alcohol. I take this opportunity to thank the family as well as Ilda for their wonderful welcome.
