Samedi 30 juillet, 118km au compteur mais cela inclût la traversée en ferry de Fehmarn en Allemagne à Rødbyhavn au Danemark...

... et surtout un vent de face presque toute la journée ! C'était terrible. En plus, la route etait souvent valonée du coup, les montées avec vent de face, parfois je criais pour me donner du courage. Paradoxalement, les jambes ont l'air de tenir. J'ai perdu pas mal de temps à Rødby et Maribo pour trouver une carte du Dannemark, tous les magasins ferment à 13h le samedi ici, les marchants de journaux ne vendent pas de cartes et les stations service que des cartes échelle 1:500000 (inexploitable pour moi, il me faut au moins du 1:100000, voire du 1:50000). Mais j'ai finalement trouvé mon bonheur, je suis entré dépité dans un hôtel où le réceptionniste m'a donnée une carte de l'île Est qui compose le Danemark et en plus, c'était gratuit !!!

Bref, me voilà arrivé ce soir à St Røttinge près de Rønnede, vers 19h voyant les nuages noirs rappliquer, je me suis arrêté dans une ferme au bord de la route pour leur demander si je pouvais camper dans leur arrière-cour. Ils m'ont proposer de camper plutôt sur leur pelouse et ont accepté que je prenne une douche chez eux. Il faut dire que j'en avais bien besoin !

Demain, direction Copenhague.

Saturday 30th of July, 118km (approx 70 miles) on the counter but it includes the crossing with the ferry from Fehmarn in Germany and Rødbyhavn in Denmark...

... and more important, facing wind almost all day long, it was hard as hell, moreover the road was quite hilly so for the climbing with facing wind, I was screaming sometimes to give me some courage. But surprisingly, my legs are fine. I lost a lot of time in Rødby and Maribo to find a Denmark map. All the shops close at 1:00pm here on Saturday, the kiosks don't sell maps and petrol stations only sell maps with 1:500000 scale (useless for me as I need at least 1:100000 or even better with 1:50000).
But I finally found what I needed in a hotel, I entered with sad face but the receptionist gave me a map of the Eastern island that composes Denmark and guess what... the map was free !

Anyway, here I am tonight, in St Røttinge, close to Rønnede, close to 7:00pm, I saw the black clouds approaching so I stoped in a farm on the side of the road to ask them if I could camp in their backyard, they told me rather to camp in their garden on the grass and accepted that I take a shower. Let's admit it, I really needed one.

Tomorrow, heading to Copenhagen.

Vendredi 29 Juillet. Aujourd'hui, 134km au compteur. L'Allemagne est définitivement moins plate que les Pays-Bas. Mais ça fait du bien, les paysages changent, j'en avais un peu marre des canaux et des champs cultivés. Ici, au moins je vois un peu de Nature sauvage, j'ai même longé une jolie plage pendant un moment, c'était sympa.

Le temps n'a pas été mauvais, en tout cas, il n'a pas plu mais ça a été nuageux toute la journée. Et là, il est 21h, je suis dans ma tente, heureux qu'elle soit montée parce j'ai vu de beaux nuages noirs à l'horizon. J'ai planté ma tente dans un pré, je suis allé demander l'autorisation au propriétaires, qui ont une immense écurie, un grande maison et plein de dépendances. Ils ont été sympa, il m'ont même laissé prendre une douche.

Me voilà donc bien content de ma journée, mais si j'aurais aimer être plus au Nord. Je dois revoir mes ambitions car en regardant les distances sur Google, je me base sur les distances d'autoroutes, et je fais environ 40% de trajet en plus en passant par les petites routes. Mais bon, 133km, ça va, je crois que j'ai bien assuré. Demain, j'espère passer au Danemark.

Friday 29th of July.Today, 134km on the counter (approx 80 miles). Germany is definately less flat than the Netherlands. But it's good, I was a little used to the water channels and all cultivated fields. Here, I can see a bit more of wild Nature. I even went along a nice beach at some point, which was nice.

The weather has been fine, well, at least it has not rained but it's been cloudy all day long. Now it's 9:00pm, I am in my tent, happy that it is set because I have seen some dark clouds in the horizon. I actually put my tent in a green field. I went asking for the permission to the owners of the place, who have HUGE property with horses and several side houses and granges. They've been really nice, they let me have a shower in their place.

So, here I am, happy of my day even if I wish to have been more further to the North. I need to stop planning using Google Maps because the distances between cities there are given according to motorways, and I think I do about 40% more using the little roads. But hey, 134km, I think it's fine, I did pretty well. Tomorrow, I hope to pass in Denmark.
