Cela fait maintenant quelques jours que je me suis décidé à partir à vélo. Mais partir avec un vélo ne s'improvise pas au niveau du matériel. J'ai passé commande chez Culture Vélo à Colmar. Le staff, tout particulièrement Stéphane, a été assez sympa pour prendre quelques heures afin de "confectionner" un vélo qui devrait tenir la route pour quelques milliers de kilomètres.

J'y ai fait changer les composants de vitesse (dérailleurs avant et arrière, manettes, cassette, chaîne) pour passer en Shimano SLX, une gamme au dessus de l'équipement de base qui était du Shimano Alivio. La selle est remplacée par une selle Brooks, référence en terme de confort même si de prime abord, elle a l'air plutôt rigide. C'est une selle qui va petit-à-petit s'adapter à ma morphologie (enfin... j'espère...). Enfin le cintre est remplacé par un cintre "papillon" pour le confort.
Je devrais recevoir le vélo fin de semaine prochaine. Je suis très impatient !!!

It's been several days now that I have decided to start with a bike. But travelling with a bike cannot be done with cheap equipment. For those who know the place, I ordered my bike at Culture Vélo in Colmar. The staff, especially Stéphane, has been nice enough to take a few hours in order to design a bike that is ready for several thousands kilometers.

I will get gearing devices replaced (front and rear derailleurs, shifters, rear hub, chain) to upgrade from Shimano Alivio to Shimano SLX. The saddle is being replaced by a Brooks, référence in terms of comfort, even if it looks pretty rigid on first sight. It should slowly but surely adapt to my morphology (well... I hope...). Finally, I'll get a "butterfly" handlebar for a better comfort too.
JI should get the bike by end of next week, can't wait ! I'm really looking forward to it !!!
